Job Description (Senior Project Engineer / Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical) Senior Project Engineer (M&E) is responsible for monitoring the project team's overall process and operation. Ultimately, you will be managing the related aspects of mechanical and electrical of the assigned projects by ensuring the adherence to the required specifications, budget goals and timeline. Manage mid-scale project and assist lead engineer on larger projects. Undertake strategic projects planning, including feasibility analysis, impact assessment, modelling, budgeting, and developing high-value strategies across public and private sectors. Provide detailed design work across a broad range of projects within the related area of mechanical, electrical, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Monitor the technical and design input on projects while ensuring work quality is maintained within the expected standard. Supervise and handle project costing, tender document, tendering process, award and relevant contract administration matters. Perform engineering design, calculation, testing and validation to support assigned tasks. Review BIM modelling using Navisworks for an accurate and workable design output. Supervise and review designed drawings produced by the draughtsman. Prepare project, tender and technical drawings for new project or tender submission. Prepare all technical presentation documents and participate in all technical presentation meetings with internal or external stakeholders. Prepare and review all submittals of subcontractors. Ensure project comply with the standard safety, health and environmental guidelines as established by the authority. Ensure the BIM input and output are correct and able to generate information and quantity for verification purposes. Ensure the sites implement the respective designs according to the endorsed design drawings. Ensure the building design is in compliance with all the local authority requirements and meeting the timeline to obtain the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC). Provide support to project and client relationship management related activities. Maintain all the project related ISO documents as per ISO audit requirements. Keep track record on all assigned project documents related to subject matter of scopes. Review and supervise the development of technical skills of the team members. Provide guidance, professional advice and support to the engineers under your care. Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior and/or the management. To be successful for the role: ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other equivalent fields. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION/OTHER RELEVANT CERTIFICATION Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). WORKING EXPERIENCES Minimum 5 years of working experience as a full-time Engineer, with minimum 4 years of construction site or consultancy experience related to M&E design and layout. Proven experience in big scale commercial and public building projects. KEY/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES In-depth knowledge of design, construction and building systems. Well versed in BIM modeller or relevant software in regards to building and infrastructure design. Well versed in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or relevant software. Good project management skills. Good leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of engineers. Ability to resolve conflicts and issues arising at site or contractual matters.
