Key Responsibilities: Vigilance & Supervision: * Actively and continuously scan the pool area from a designated vantage point to identify and respond to any potential risks or emergencies. * Enforce all pool rules and regulations firmly and fairly to prevent accidents. * Maintain crowd control and ensure appropriate behavior in and around the pool area. Emergency Response: * Perform water rescues and administer first aid, CPR, and other life-saving techniques as needed. * Act as a first responder to any medical or safety emergencies that occur in the aquatics facility. * Document all incidents and accidents accurately and submit reports to the relevant management. Pool Maintenance & Operations: * Assist with the daily setup and breakdown of pool equipment (e.g., lane ropes, starting blocks). * Conduct regular checks of pool chemistry and water quality to ensure safe conditions, reporting any issues to the maintenance team. * Ensure the pool deck, changing rooms, and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and free from hazards. Customer Service & Communication: * Provide a friendly and professional presence, offering assistance and information to students, staff, and parents. * Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding any concerns or observations. * Liaise with swimming coaches and teachers to ensure a safe environment during lessons and training. Training & Professional Development: * Maintain current certification in all required life-saving and first aid qualifications. * Participate in regular in-service training sessions and drills to maintain and improve skills. Qualifications and Requirements: * Valid and current Lifeguard certification from a recognized authority (e.g., Red Cross, Lifesaving Society). * Valid and current First Aid and CPR/AED certification. * Proven experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a school or similar institutional environment. * Excellent swimming and water rescue skills. * Strong observational and decision-making abilities. * Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A positive attitude and a passion for ensuring the safety of others. * Knowledge of standard pool maintenance and safety procedures is a plus. * Must be legally eligible to work in Malaysia. Working Hours: * This is a full-time position. Working hours will be scheduled to cover pool operating hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and may include shifts during school holidays. Show more Show less
