- Understand all aspects of forest carbon offset projects, registries, methodologies (REDD+, Jurisdictional, IFM, ARR, etc.), and the process for issuance of carbon credits
- Provide clarifications to the internal team regarding rules and requirements of standards and methodologies (particularly VERRA Standards & Methodologies).
- Monitor external voluntary carbon standards to stay up to date with changes and help shape Living Carbon's growth strategy
- Build internal knowledge system for carbon standards and co-benefit standards
- Lead development of revision of existing and/ or new methodologies under various standards as needed while staying on top of VCM best practices
- Interface with project financing stakeholders, field implementation partners and forestry teams to ensure plans reflect standards and methodology requirements
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Coordinating internal resources and vendors for the execution of Carbon and/ or Renewable Energy projects
- Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Expertise in forest carbon projects and strong understanding of methodologies and carbon registry standard requirements
- Strong understanding of the key principles of the voluntary carbon standards
- Proven track record within carbon project validation and verification process
- Experience writing, updating and publishing carbon methodologies
- Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of new developments in the Voluntary Market Place, including accreditation, codes of best practices
- Familiarity with carbon offsetting (e.g., interventions in scope 3), SDG & ESG reporting, and Net Zero is a plus
