Legal Counsel - L'Oréal MALAYSIA & SINGAPOREGENERAL DESCRIPTIONYou will be based in the Malaysia headquarters of this cluster organization. The role promises a varied, fast-paced commercial law experience with the opportunity to develop a wide range of legal and corporate experience.Our Legal Counsel works at the heart of a busy and well-respected award-winning legal team, liaising with the regional legal team of the L'Oréal SAPMENA Zone (South Asia-Pacific Middle East North Africa), as well as the international legal function based in Paris. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of L'Oréal's businesses, and providing timely, accurate and legally compliant advice to the various divisions and functions. Our lawyers work with colleagues from all areas of the business, including in information technology, data privacy, commercial, digital, media, ecommerce, retail, marketing, purchasing, finance, market research, consumer advisory and communications.REPORTING STRUCTUREThe role reports to the General Counsel for L'Oréal Malaysia & Singapore.TASKS AND DUTIES

Negotiating, reviewing and drafting all types of contracts and legal documents
Advising the operational and functional departments in all areas of law (commercial, competition, data privacy, corporate, communications, real estate, information technology & intellectual property)

Provide training and/or empower business with the learning to increase and ensure awareness and appropriate compliance with internal policy and relevant laws and regulations

Maintaining the existing high profile of the legal team throughout the business and active legal involvement in operational decision making
Liaising with counterparts in the Paris-based headquarters and Zone legal team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Qualified lawyer, possess a Bachelor of Laws degree
Minimum 8 years PQE
Well versed in corporate and commercial legal work

Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to rapidly digest and distill complex issues and help formulate strategy / responses
Ability to work fluently in a diverse and multi-national environment
Ability to coordinate among key stakeholders and manage relationships at multiple levels
Ability to manage cross-border projects

Has analytical skills and very detail orientated
Demonstrates creativity and open to explore new ways of working such as embracing legal technology in day to day tasks
