Media Marketing Director

Background We are launching a new media business and are looking for someone who can lead the development, take ownership of the entire process-from SEO strategy to article creation, SNS management, and writer direction. This role will be deeply involved in all aspects of media operations, supporting our business leader as both an advisor and executor. Your responsibilities You will oversee and execute a wide range of tasks related to media management: Strategy & Planning Persona and category design Market, trend, and competitor research (including regional/cultural/religious/seasonal/KW analysis) Content planning, site CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) Website Operations Manage and operate CMS (WordPress) Content posting and editing Article updates (laws, finance, interest rates), localization, fact-checking Visual creation (images, graphs, thumbnails) Direction Recruit, manage, and train writers Proofreading and reviewing submissions Create guidelines and manuals SNS / Advertising Create and schedule posts, basic video editing, LINE Official / WhatsApp distribution Analyze and optimize social media strategies Manage ads across Meta (FB/Instagram), Google, X, YouTube, TikTok Executive Support Act as an advisor/assistant to the Director (strategy discussions, validation, execution) Handle inquiries, task management, and scheduling Must haves Able to communicate fluently in Japanese Native in English & Malay Experience in SEO media operations SNS management and content direction experience Proficient with CMS (WordPress) Good to haves Knowledge of finance and familiarity with Malaysian culture Experience with financial media (e.g., RinggitPlus ) Experience in advertising management (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.) Ideally someone who is up to date with current SNS trends and can speak to a younger audience. If you have site design experience that would be a big plus! Work Style Freelance / Contract-based (full-time expected: 10:00-19:00) Remote work available An example of Daily Workflow Morning : Handle inquiries, manage writers, research, persona design Afternoon : Article editing, SNS posting, ad campaign setup, writer management, strategy sessions Evening : CRO/site improvements, progress review, planning for the next day Compensation Negotiable based on skills and experience Ideal Candidate A true "all-rounder" who can cover strategy, execution, and management Proactive, takes initiative, and can act as a reliable right-hand partner to the Director Culturally aware and able to design localized media strategies for the Malaysian market Show more Show less
