This position is located at Penang and is part of the Global Production Engineering Services (GPES) group. that is responsible for material cost savings, productivity improvements, factory support and product support primarily in Penang R&O facility and will be responsible for providing extensive avionics aftermarket product design knowledge and experience relating to various avionics products like Weather Radar, Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System, Aircraft Information Management System, Flight Management System, Display Unit, Recorder, etc.Key Responsibilities
- To support operations in improving effectiveness of production lines with regards to repair & overhaul of avionics product.
- To liaise with technical team to develop and modify tools, methods and repair processes as and when necessary to improve specific repair and overhaul processes.
- To manage capital expenditure for projects funded to the operation line and/or site.
- To initiate and lead productivity / process improvement projects, including risk & cost analysis.
- To manage tooling and equipment to meet operational and quality standards.
- To support site in the drive for more level III repairs.
- To support site in new capabilities setup, New Product Introduction (NPI) implementation and First Article Inspection (FAI) for its product readiness.
- To perform continued operational standards related to test equipment at the site i.e. TPMs, AMs, etc ... to meet quality and safety standards.
- To develop detailed process procedures and to compile the documentation for new and existing capability.
- To identify and drive continuous improvement on the efficiency and methods of the site's repair processes such as test equipment, tooling, etc ... to improve productivity at the site including automation or digitizing current standing processes at the site.
- Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 8 years working in the avionics or electronics industry with at least 5 years of work experience in relevant product.
- Experience in Process improvement / Manufacturing process optimization / Continuous Improvement for the operation line
- Possess a wide degree of curiosity, creativity, flexibility and possess a “can-do” attitude.
- Passion for solving challenging problems.
- Ability to multi-task with appropriate prioritization.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work.
- Program Management experience.
- Some experience developing products or sustaining existing products.
- Some experience in a highly regulated and safety critical domain.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and application.
- Strong analytical, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with other team members ensuring timely completion of assignments.
- Ability to work with little supervision, consistently taking the initiative to get things done About Us
