- Develop and oversee the implementation of financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's long-term goals and objectives.
- Enhance decision-making by integrating financial data with operational data to provide a 360-degree view of the business.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with local and international GAAPs e.g. HK, US, MY and financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits in different markets.
- Oversee tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial stability.
- Identify and assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Experience in managing accounting & non-accounting projects such as software implementation, process improvements & more.
- Stay abreast of and adapt to changing financial regulations and standards, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing finance team.
- Develop a talent management strategy for the finance team, focusing on attracting, retaining, and developing high-potential talent.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with overall business plans.
- Collaborate with tax consultants to optimize the company's tax position.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings, contributing to the development and execution of corporate strategies.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that contribute to the company's strategic goals and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices in financial management.
- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA or CFA is a must.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Candidates with Big4 accounting firm experience (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) are preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheet (Index-Match, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- Experience in Xero accounting software is a must and bank apps like Airwallex, Payoneer and other banks.
- Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Experience working with global teams and managing financial operations for a multinational organisation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational & time management skills and is able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Agile thinking and solution-oriented approach to navigate dynamic financial challenges and stakeholders expectations.
