- Responsible for driving and delivering marketing communication plans and strategies for the Retail Banking business and ensuring consistency and alignment with the Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB) business agendas for Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia and Standard Chartered Bank Saadiq Malaysia
- Leads the CPBB Marketing team to identify opportunities and bring expertise and creativity at both strategic and execution levels within the agreed scope and budget
- Fully accountable to the Malaysian CPBB Client Business Heads (for Brand & Marketing), whilst ensuring their consistent understanding of both functions’ scope and deliverables
- Leads on delivering governance, issues and risk (operational and reputational) across Malaysia
- Determine and formulate CPBB marketing and communication strategies for Standard Chartered Malaysia and Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia, working closely with the CPBB Head and respective CPBB business units to ensure alignment of business goals and agendas
- Managing and bringing together creative expertise from creative agencies, event organisers, media house and/or media owners to deliver holistic and integrated communication strategies and approaches
- Contribute to overall Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing visions and priorities
- Design and execute campaign communication strategies to meet business needs
- Use consumer, competitor and research insights to provide thought leadership to formulation of the marketing strategy that supports the Bank’s brand, marketing and business strategies
- Develop, socialise and implement the annual marketing plan/calendar
- Project-manage enterprise marketing campaigns and programs to include Global and Regional sponsorships
- Drive digital marketing awareness with the Product teams using digital platforms
- Forecast, measure and report on marketing results within agreed deadlines
- Be a Brand Champion - ensure all segment and product campaigns live up to our brand promise of Here for good while, delivering committed business outcomes
- Lead the delivery of CPBB marketing activities in a framework that ensures they are executed within brand specifications to reinforce the overall Standard Chartered brand positioning through consistency in tone, manner, look and feel
- Forecast, manage and ensure maximum leverage of the marketing budget, with measurements of success in place for enhanced marketing efficiency
- Ongoing tracking and monitoring of activity results to ensure returns on investment is measured and feedback is translated into future improvements
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase functional effectiveness and improve operational efficiencies
- Cultivate teamwork and promote multi-tasking within the team
- Assess and measure the team’s activities to ensure alignment with plans, forecasts and capacity models
- Enhance leadership capability and create a culture of talent development and empowerment within the CPBB Marketing team
- Champion capability and training requirements for the CPBB Marketing team
- Demonstrate shift towards anticipation of risks
- Proactively identify and mitigate in-country risk issues and ensure that they are reported/escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures in a timely manner
- Adhere to policies including escalation and compliance requirements, and follow any other relevant internal controls and procedures as they relate to process, products, policies and regulations
- Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various policies, procedures and guidelines of the Bank by the regional and group Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing teams

- At least 15 years of Brand and Marketing experience, preferably in the banking/financial services industry with an international context
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and working experience
- Strong business/product knowledge and sufficient expertise to command respect and credibility with senior stakeholders
- Strong analytics, performance marketing and portfolio management experience
- Strong digital marketing and communications experience
