Electrical Design Engineer - Power Plant Projects Location: Kuala Lumpur (Office Based) Job Type: Full-time We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the end-to-end design and technical delivery of power plant projects , including both conventional and renewable energy developments. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of power systems and electrical design, with hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed electrical design and calculations (e.g. load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, grounding, lightning protection). Develop electrical drawings: single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, cable schedules, earthing, and lighting layouts. Specify and design equipment including HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, UPS, and battery systems. Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and bill of materials (BOM). Ensure all designs comply with relevant international and local standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, BS). Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and ensure integration with other engineering disciplines. Provide technical support through procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning. Requirements: Bachelor&aposs degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's is an advantage. 3-5 years of experience in electrical design engineering for large-scale power plant projects . Proficiency with design tools such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar. Familiar with HV, MV, and LV distribution systems and protection schemes. Strong communication and coordination skills, with ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Added Advantages: Professional Engineer (PE) registration. Experience in control system integration (PLC/DCS). Exposure to grid integration, large-scale battery storage, or advanced generation technologies. PMP or other project management certification.
