DescriptionPrimary Objective:1. To manage a portfolio of accounts under Special Assets which are deemed high risk / distressed identified for Enhanced Account Management to prevent losses / impairment as well as improve group P&L.2. To oversee the management and reporting of watchlist accounts to ensure proactive account management is undertaken by Business Teams to protect asset quality.3. To undertake ad hoc review to identify critical credits and recommend appropriate action plan/ account strategy for Business Team's adoption to protect the Bank's interest.
Key Responsibilities:Scope & complexity * Identify underlying problems and concerns that lead to deterioration of credit risk profile and / or caused financial distress to the accounts to alleviate further deterioration to asset quality.
  • Recommend strategies and appropriate action plans on distressed accounts to minimize and/or mitigate risks that can lead to impairment and subsequently financial loss.
  • Work with relationship managers on solutions to rehabilitate distressed accounts as well as manage assets under exit strategy out of Corporate books to manage impaired ration and loan loss provision and ensure that they are within budget.
  • Oversees accounts under EAM and jointly work with business teams to manage these accounts to preserve the assest quality.
  • Conduct site visits with relationship managers whenever necessary to help to detect any early warning signals.
  • Liaise with Group Credit Management on updates and reporting of distress EAM/AST accounts to Grp Credit Committee.
  • Identify risk associated with any adverse market information and promptly assess potential impact on the Bank to alleviate loan losses.
  • Monitoring of MIA, excesses, past due & adverse market informatin etc to ensure account regularizarion on timely manner to avoid MFRS9 trigger.
  • Undertake quarterly review of accounts in vulnerable sectors and propose appropriate recommendations for Business Teams for further action to protect the Bank's asset quality.
  • Liaise with LRD on status and progress of impaired accounts to update management on the impact of these accounts on divisional bottom line.
  • Reporting of asset quality deck to GCC on monthly basis.
  • Assist in coordinating the bottom-up stress test undertaken by Group Risk Management.
Leadership * Provide guidance and train the business teams on MFRS139 assessment to ensure compliance with Regulatory/ Accounting requirements and standards.
  • Provide training for junior relationship on early warning signals / detection of problem accounts to inculcate strong credit risk skills.
  • Groom successor for sustainable succession planning
Stakeholders Management * Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to foster strong working relationship to achive divisional objectives.Compliance * Ensure compliance with policies and procedures set by the Bank and BNM to help in achieving divisional goals.
  • Monitoring compliance of collateral and financial covenants for EAM accounts.
  • Remind relationship managers to address Margin of finance breaches accounts sent by BCOD to ensure compliance of covenants on timely manner.
  • Monitor submission of renewal of non-RHB insurance policy by RMs to BCOD for safe keeping.
RequirementsRequirements:
Bachelor Degree - Any related field(s).- Certified Credit Professional (CCP)
- Omega's Credit Skill Assessment (CSA)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Corporate or Investment Banking at established financial institution.
  • In depth knowledge of red flag or early warning signals of loan assets.
  • Strong negotiation skills in work out plans / restructuring.
  • Good understanding of MFRS139 guidelines and BNM guidelines on loan loss provision.
