Summary Of Responsibilities The Engineer I is responsible for the stability and efficient operations of 24X7 mission-critical payment solutions. The candidate plays a vital role in supporting incremental improvements, stability, and resiliency that achieve against quality benchmarks, service levels, and regulatory standards. Core responsibilities include monitoring, maintaining, improving, and restoring a complex technical landscape. The Engineer will apply a proactive approach, technical know-how, and critical thinking to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner. Key Areas Of Responsibilities Keep an eagle-eye's watch of the health and continuous availability of the Real-time Payments Platform (RPP) landscape. Ensure anomalies and deviations are promptly investigated and remediated Respond to crisis situations promptly, perform first-level triage, and restore services within stipulated SLA Actively identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in technology and operating processes. Activtely participate in the feedback loop between cross-functional teams (Application Development, Quality Control, and Business) Develop automation that accelerates and improves accuracy of tasks Provide after-hours, rotating on-call to support urgent issues. Provide after-hours support for production changes and maintenance Interact closely with external and internal stakeholders to ensure satisfactory resolution of issues Adhere to ITSM best practices such as in change management, incident management, and problem management. Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and actively participate in root-cause analysis Think out-of-the box and bring ideas to the table Value proactive measures over reactive and corrective actions. Able to self-regulate and perform well under minimal supervision Keep abreast of technology and business trends to help foster innovation and efficiency within the organization. Qualifications Diploma or higher in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent professional certification or working experience Has 5+ years of experience in supporting or administering enterprise-grade, mission-critical platforms Experience with systems administration and monitoring in Linux or UNIX platforms Experience with scripting in Linux/UNIX shells, Powershell, or other languages Experience with troubleshooting and writing SQL against RDBMS platforms Experience in implementing telemetry and observability using tooling such as ELK and Grafana Experience in Change Management, Incident Management, and other ITSM processes Software development in object-oriented frameworks is an advantage Relevant work experience in the banking or financial tech sector is an advantage Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Critical thinker and able to lend out-of-the-box thinking to formulate solutions Adaptable, flexible, and motivated to grow.
