Together, we're the next BIG thing in data.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:- Design and development of mechanical parts include plastic injection molding tray, machining pallet, jig, fixture for SSD drive manufacturing, including conceptualization, prototyping, testing, and implementation.- Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes and equipment for better performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to integrate new technologies and methodologies into the manufacturing process.- Conduct thorough risk assessments for equipment designs and processes, implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and ensure safety.- Manage equipment development projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and SSD manufacturing technology, incorporating innovative solutions into our operations.- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.- Knowledge in plastic injection molding, sheet metal, jig or mechanical part, design or manufacturing field.- Profound knowledge of mechanical systems, materials science, and manufacturing processes.- Experience with CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks or AutoCAD.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of enhancing manufacturing efficiency and equipment reliability.- Excellent project management abilities, capable of leading projects from conception through to completion.- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.Additional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
