A2R Indirect Tax Senior AccountantAbout the role:We are looking for a driven tax professional to join our Sanofi Finance team. This is a key role in managing the Asia indirect tax function including both ensuring compliance obligations are met as well as partnering and advising the business on indirect tax matters.Core model ImplementationImplement and ensure alignment with SBO core modelPropose and support any project which aim to align to core model but also transform and automate our processesEmbrace RPA mindsetComplianceEnsure SOX and Internal Control Framework compliance across activities, and support A2R Lead/Supervisor and Country Finance to identify and address any gapsSupport external and internal audits by working closely with A2R Lead/Supervisor and Country FinanceEnsure adequate follow up on issues identified during external and internal auditOperationsPrepare and manage GST compliance, lodgements, reporting and processing journals for Asia entitiesManage non-resident withholding tax obligations including the annual reconciliationPrepare month-end indirect tax reconciliations and reporting as neededPartner with the business to provide indirect tax (GST) advice, support and responses to queries within the confines of the legislationMaintain and enhance the operational effectiveness of tax internal controls and governance e.g. ensuring all documents are referenced and process guides / manuals are regularly updatedMonitor developments and updates to indirect tax related legislative changesAssist with statutory audit questions and liaise with auditors regarding indirect tax related mattersAssist with adhoc Indirect Tax IRD reviews/auditsPreparation of tax memos and file notes to support technical positionsOther adhoc assistance to the Tax Manager where required.Continuous improvementSupport A2R Lead/Supervisor in monitoring performance on a continuous basis against agreed SLAs and define corrective actions, where necessaryIdentify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology – including ERP and other tools and solutionsContribute to customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholdersEssential Skills and ExperienceAt least 5 years working experience in TaxationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailProficient in MS ExcelExperience with SAP or equivalent is an advantageProven experience with a similar indirect tax role in a multinational environmentTertiary qualifications majoring in Tax/ AccountingCommercial mindset with the ability to partner with and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersDesirable Skills and ExperienceWorking experience in a customer-facing and service-oriented corporate positionWorking experience in a Finance shared services environment, either captive (in-house) or in a BPO settingEssential QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree/Professional Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or equivalentSanofi Behaviors and SkillsThis position is required to demonstrate behaviors such as Stretch, Put the interest of the organization, Act in the interest of our patients and customers and Take Action.
