It is a leading Asian based virtual network operator with service coverage to more than 150 countries currently and growing.The Nevigate Network Security Engineer has two primary areas of responsibilities: * Security Infrastructure Management – Install, configure and manage Fortigate Firewalls, Fortimanager and FortiAnalyzer

The Network Security Engineer has a diverse range of duties and is required to fulfil the tasks in a professional and timely manner. You will be responsible for maintenance of our global firewall infrastructure, while also contributing to the overall engineering, design, build, and high-level support of existing and new infrastructure components. You are also required to assist our Sales Team, Operations Team and our customers in technical troubleshooting and providing solutions.It is a MUST to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with continued trust in Nevigate.You need to be concise and clear in your communications externally with customers, and internally with other departments like Sales, Operations, and Finance. You will also work very closely with the Operations team to develop a good all-round understanding of systems and networks. Diligence and attention to detail are key skills along with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work appropriately.You will need to learn new skills and must be prepared to spend time doing suitable research to ensure the grounding is thorough and properly understood. You may be required to be part of the shift or join our call-out rota supporting 24x7 for our core network and services.The Network Security Engineer is expected to have a solid knowledge and hands-on experience in IP (Internet Protocol) Network, WAN (Wide Area Network), Fortinet, Juniper and Cisco setup, configuration, and troubleshooting. You must have a good understanding of Nevigate products and processes; be eager and quick to learn, a clear communicator, and must be able to use your initiative to tackle a broad range of problems.OBJECTIVES
  • Maintain and Enhance Nevigate network by engineering and architecting on Fortinet, Juniper and Mikrotik Products.
  • Manage Nevigate Network Infrastructure including routers, switches, VPN etc.
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimizing on Nevigate network environments.
  • Maintaining multi-site network infrastructure and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities
  • Provide Level 2 technical support on troubleshooting and resolution for our Network Operations Team.
  • Conduct training and knowledge transfers to internal departments like Network Operations.
  • Document and refine all (Technical and Network Engineering) processes into the Knowledge Library.
  • Lead by your competence, coach with commitment and motivate with positive energy to your staff.
  • Provides guidance and direction for less experienced engineers.
  • Build a trusted relationship with Customers with dedicated commitment.
  • Willing to standby weekend/ night time to monitor network changes, problems and incidents, or off-hours maintenance windows.
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
RESPONSIBILITIESYou will be responsible for our Network Security Engineering and Technical Solution activities.Network Engineering:
  • Configure and setup Fortigate, Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
  • Good technical skills in WAN protocols,
  • Strong ability in conducting TCP/IP networking, architecture and core technologies (MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, DNS, HTTP, etc.).
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.).
  • Configuring and installing server and client network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
  • Manage and resolve Customer escalations; providing support and guidance to resolve incidents and faults escalation in a proactive and diligent manner.
  • Provide server build and installs, application upgrades, network equipment build and installation.
  • Maintain hardware serial audits.
  • Provide reports on the status and performance of Nevigate Network, ISP services and Facilities.
  • Facilities maintenance (monitoring and management of SLAs, running health and safety and housekeeping checks at Nevigate PoPs).
  • Thought Leadership/Innovation (to gain knowledge of new IP technology / trends and applies that knowledge to product development for innovation).
Technical Solutioning:
  • Be the technical point of contact for the Sales Team.
  • Assist Sales Team in client meetings and/or providing technical solution proposals to clients.
  • Utilize your strong technical background to run client/prospect discovery sessions and map the technology and services offered by the company with the business and marketing requirements of prospects.
  • Leads and participates in client facing meetings, joint venture discussions, vendor partnerships, client and internal development team working solutions to determine solution approaches.
  • Propose, design, create and present prototypes, demos and proofs-of-concept to a wide variety of audiences, from engineers to marketing professionals.
  • Serve as a bridge to ensure that technical and process solutions meet the requirements of the marketing and technical organizations.
  • Respond effectively to technical and process questions received via RFP.
Team & Management:
  • To coach, guide and assist to both Operations and Sales Team.
  • Maintenance of WIKI and Technical documentation for Technical Team (for Network Engineering and Technical Solutioning processes and procedures used throughout normal operations).
  • Development of knowledge and skills in network and system administration, particularly with regard to Nevigate's own architecture and platforms.
  • May be required to work in shift or put on standby basis 24*7 in the event of incident escalations.
  • Submit weekly reports on Technical and Network matters.
  • Involvement in other ad hoc project matters as required.
Job RequirementsCANDIDATE PROFILEExperiences:
  • With a minimum 4 years of work experience in an ISP or Telco environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
  • Routers / firewalls / switches (Fortinet/Juniper/Cisco)
  • VPN solutions (public internet IPSEC/SSL or private based MPLS)
  • Relevant hands-on experiences and good understanding of one or more of following technologies:
  • Internet / ADVPN / IPSEC/ SASE
  • Switching and routing, including QoS and CoS
  • Network Routing Optimization
  • Security; firewalls, proxy servers and IDP/IPS
  • Cloud delivery, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
  • DNS
Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess at least degree in Computer Science/ Engineering/ IT or equivalent
  • Candidate must have Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) or NSE 4 FortiOS (7.2) Certified
  • Candidate must possess a strong knowledge on supporting TCP/IP, various Routing Protocols, and MPLS with at least 2 years hands-on experience.
  • Experience with firewalls, switches, IPSec, IDS/IPS.
  • Knowledge of major internet routing protocols: BGP, IGMP, EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS.
  • Have a strong passion in networking as well as the drive and energy to pursue a career in this field.
  • Ability to assess and prioritise faults and respond or escalate accordingly.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong network diagnostic skills.
  • Self-driven individual with proven record of developing high-quality solutions.
  • Actively seeks ways of improving existing systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources.
  • Sense of ownership to see things through to completion.
  • Good communicator with ability to interact and a natural aptitude for dealing with people.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work well in a busy team, being quick to learn and able to deal with a wide range of issues.
  • English proficiency is a must; a second or third language an added advantage.
