- Diploma in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology).
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in performing preventive maintenance tasks on data center equipment, including servers, network devices, and power systems.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, with the ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
- Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
- Ability to use monitoring tools and systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact data center operations.
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation, including racking and stacking servers, installing network devices, and connecting power and data cables.
- Proficient in structured cabling practices, including cable management, labeling, and termination.
- Thorough understanding of data center power systems, including UPS, generators, and power distribution units (PDUs).
- Knowledge of data center cooling systems, including CRAC units, chillers, and cooling towers.
- Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Kuala Lumpur and to be available for after-hours support as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on data center infrastructure, including servers, network devices, power systems (UPS, generators), and cooling systems (CRAC units, chillers).
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and related software on servers and other data center equipment.
- Monitor data center environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) and system performance using monitoring tools; respond to alerts and escalate issues as necessary.
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling for network and server connections, ensuring proper cable management and labeling.
- Manage and maintain data center inventory, including tracking equipment locations, serial numbers, and warranty information.
- Respond to and resolve hardware and software issues, providing technical support to internal teams and external customers.
- Assist with data center capacity planning and expansion projects, including equipment procurement, installation, and decommissioning.
- Adhere to data center security policies and procedures, including access control, visitor management, and data protection protocols.
- Perform regular inspections of data center infrastructure to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
