- Setting Standard Costs: Define standard costs for materials, labour, and overhead by using historical information, industry standards, and other pertinent data.
- Variance Monitoring: Track and analyse the differences between standard costs and actual production costs, investigating and explaining any significant discrepancies to management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Help develop budgets and forecasts focused mainly on overhead costs by providing relevant cost insights. Track actual results versus budget and explain any variances.
- Inventory Management: Establish and uphold inventory control procedures to ensure accurate tracking and valuation of inventory based on standard costs.
- Cost Reporting: Generate regular reports on costs and performance metrics to monitor key cost factors, highlight areas for improvement, and offer cost-saving recommendations to management.
- Process Enhancement: Work with various teams to find and implement opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs, driving efficiency gains where possible.
- Regulatory Compliance and Controls: Maintain adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and regulations in all cost-related tasks, identifying and resolving any compliance or control issues.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience working in Manufacturing industry
