Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Job Purpose: Responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Minimise project costs while ensuring quality and standards are maintained, providing accurate valuations and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: 1. Cost Planning & Estimation Prepare cost estimates and budgets during the design and planning phases. Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises to ensure cost efficiency. Advise on procurement strategies and contract types 2. Tendering & Procurement Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BOQs). Analyse and evaluate tenders from contractors and suppliers. Negotiate and award contracts in line with project requirements and budgets. 3. Project Cost Management Monitor project expenditure and manage cost control systems. Conduct interim valuations and issue payment certificates to contractors. Prepare financial reports and cash flow forecasts. 4. Contract Administration Manage variations, claims, and contract disputes. Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations. Liaise with the design team, contractors, and clients to resolve commercial issues. 5. Final Accounts Prepare final accounts and reports upon project completion. Ensure all financial and contractual matters are closed out accurately and on time. Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent negotiation and communication abilities. Thorough understanding of construction methods, contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), and procurement processes. Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities. Able to work on CAD Drawings Qualifications & Experience: Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Experience in cost management within construction projects preferred. Work Environment: Office-based with regular site visits. May involve travel depending on project locations. Show more Show less
