The role involves leading the accounting team across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring compliance with local and group reporting requirements, participating in strategic decision-making, managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The position also requires overseeing statutory reporting, tax compliance, cash flow management, internal controls, and collaborating with local management teams, coupled with a strong emphasis on leadership, organizational skills, communication, and technical proficiency in financial management, taxation, and treasury. The ideal candidate should possess a relevant bachelor's degree or professional qualification in accounting, extensive knowledge in financial reporting and management, and experience in ERP systems and Excel.

Lead accounting team in Asia Pacific region i.e. Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and Hong Kong to ensure adherence to both local and Group's reporting requirement.
Participate in regular management review with Group Exco members. Involve and contribute to formulate the company's strategy, investment evaluation and business expansion plan.
Responsible in financial reporting, budget and financial forecast for the region including planning, coordinating and consolidation.
Ensure compliance in statutory reporting for all legal entities across the Asia Pacific region. Liaise with external auditors at respective region, in addition to auditors take charge of group plc audits.
Review annual corporate tax submissions, transfer pricing documentation, indirect tax administration for all business units. Manage and undertake actions for any changes and updates in tax regulations.
Plan and manage cash flow of the region to ensure effective cash management. Liaise with bankers for any financial facilities require.
Liaise with company secretary to ensure compliance of filing of documents are in accordance to local companies act.
Carrying out duty as a company director in signing contracts with third party, board resolutions, and other legal documents as required/ advised by respective local regulations/ Group Legal.
Review, improve and implement appropriate internal controls. Co-ordinate annual internal audit assessment exercise and field audit undertaken by Group Internal Audit.
Responsible in finance I.T. issues such as changes in set-up due to change in accounting standards, tax regulations and system upgrade.
Work closely with respective countries local management team with business partner role.
Involve in local finance operations processes such as expenses control, capital expenditure, inventories management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and treasury function to support efficient daily operation.
Coach, train and support development of finance team in respective business unit.

A relevant bachelor's degree or professional qualification in accounting field
Strong knowledge in financial and management reporting, taxation and treasury.
Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret financial information/ transactions
Understanding implementation of best practices in business processes
Problem solver, both independently and as a team
Advance user in ERP system and Microsoft Excel
Experience in manufacturing industry within MNC environment
Working experience in costing is added advantage
