- Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
- Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
- Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
- Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service.
- Maintains product data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- 7+ years experience in the design of electrical systems.
- 5 years experience in design and application of AC drive systems.
- Understanding of Low Voltage Variable Speed Drives specifically a working knowledge of low voltage drive systems (power electronics, cooling, power circuits and control circuits).
- Apply expertise and knowledge of AC drive as related to harmonic mitigation.
- Servo experience will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in interfacing with manufacturing facility.
- Experience in selecting and applying low voltage control components/products and motors.
- Knowledge of industry standards, such as UL/NEC/IEC/IEEE
- Interpretation of drawings and specifications (US and IEC style drawings)
- Experience with Eplan/AutoCad and MS Windows Office products
- Organization and time management skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and detailed oriented, quick learner
- B.Eng. Electrical & Electronic engineering or equivalent with focus on power electronics.
- Direct Industrial experience with power electronics, LV Drives/VFD/VSD (AC/DC), and electrical machinery.
- Drives/VFD/VSD experience (preferably Siemens Sinamics products)
- Understanding of Variable Frequency Drives and their applications.
- Design for manufacturing, Maintenance, and installation.
- Basic knowledge of switchgear and MCC.
- Knowledge of AC/DC machines
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Must be able to drive with valid car driving license and possess a car.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
