Overview The Datacenter Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing data center infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role involves managing servers, storage, network hardware, and facility systems, as well as supporting deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Deployment & Maintenance Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage devices, and networking equipment. Execute rack and stack operations, cabling, and labeling. Support hardware lifecycle activities including provisioning, upgrades, and decommissioning. Operations & Monitoring Monitor system health, network performance, and facility environment (temperature, humidity, power). Respond to and resolve data center incidents in accordance with SLAs. Maintain detailed asset inventory and documentation. Security & Compliance Implement physical and logical security protocols. Ensure compliance with corporate, industry, and regulatory standards. Oversee media sanitization and secure hardware disposal. Collaboration & Support Work closely with customers for network turn up Provide remote hands and smart hands support Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in data center operations or infrastructure support. Hands-on experience with server hardware (HPE, Dell, Cisco, etc.), network equipment, and storage arrays. Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and OS environments (Linux, Windows Server). Familiarity with structured cabling, fiber, and copper standards. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent documentation and communication abilities. Preferred Skills Data center certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCS, CompTIA Server+, CCNA, VCP). Knowledge of power systems, cooling, and environmental monitoring.
