As a Software Engineer (in Integration), you work in software development projects predominantly in integrating 3rd party systems to our applications. You are keen to learn and explore new systems and in doing so find the best solution to integrate them with our native applications. You are detail-oriented, you strive to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design. You are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary planning, defining requirements, designing and prototyping, building, documenting, testing, deploying, to finally maintaining the software. You define systems inter-connectivity and work on back-end .NET C# and JavaScript programming languages. Finally, you contribute positively within the Agile development team and demonstrate an enthusiastic 'can-do' attitude. You are encouraged to actively push the boundaries of new technologies to ensure that we choose the most appropriate solutions to deliver our software and to enable you to progress to meet your own potential, whilst also giving junior members of the development team the support they need to help them fulfil their personal development goals. Responsibilities Implement new features across the Ideagen Products using .NET and open-source technologies Work with external partners to smoothly integrate our technology with theirs Directly engage with customer's technical staff to understand complex environments Working closely with Development Manager and Team Leaders, and Principal/Software Engineers to build well architected cloud hosted and on-premises solutions Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Front-end Development Engineers, Test Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure features are delivered to a high standard Collaborate with Product Design Team to create an optimal user experience Work across the Software Development Lifecycle ensuring that our products are delivered to a published roadmap within planned release cycles Contribute towards the defining and developing a Sprint backlog to achieve the goals set out by our Product team Diagnose and fix software defects Provide unit tests to support and validate for any development work undertaken Contribute to the Development Team's working practices and technology decisions Create necessary documentation relating to work produced Essential Skills and Experience At least 2 years' experience in a software development role is preferred Ability to deliver technical features within an enterprise application using ASP.NET, REST and SOAP based APIs, C#, JavaScript, and Java JDK 6 or later Database development experience preferably in MS SQL and Oracle with ability to write advanced SQL scripts Knowledge of key architecture patterns and design patterns Demonstrable experience implementing .NET programming best practices Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in English Desirable Experience with Identity Providers such as Microsoft Entra Id, Okta, Keycloak, ForgeRock Experience implementing integrations with Identity Provider/Service Provider, SAML2, Active Directory/LDAP for user authentication and user sync Experience in Ajax, CSS, and Web services Knowledge in document and content management systems such as Veeva, OpenText Documentum Knowledge in servers such as Apache Tomcat, SMTP, etc. Working knowledge using CI/CD tools specifically Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and SonarQube Working knowledge using distributed version-control system such as Git Understanding of Agile software development methodologies/frameworks such as Scrum Behaviour Ambitious - Drive, Planning & Execution Adventurous - Flexibility & Resilience and Savvy Thinking Community - Collaboration & Communication
