Discover how you can grow your career, make impact and drive real change with our Winning Team today.Working Arrangement HybridJob DescriptionThe opportunityReporting to the Chief Agency Officer, Malaysia, the Head of Agency Strategy will be taking full ownership and accountability on formulating, driving and delivering key agency strategic initiatives that transform and accelerate the expansion of Agency Force for Manulife Malaysia. The incumbent will partner with business and functional leaders to articulate specific strategy for agency force, drive clearly defined agency proposition and develop and execute plans, with the objective to transform and grow Agency Force.Responsibilities
  • Full ownership and accountability on formulating, driving and delivering key agency strategic initiatives and overall sales and recruitment campaigns that transform and accelerate the expansion of Agency Force
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to articulate specific segmented strategy for agency force, drive clearly defined agency proposition and to develop and execute plans to transform Agency and help realize our ambition
  • Responsible for the development of agency strategic initiatives for Manulife Malaysia, this role would have to stay on top of evolving market trends and competitive landscape and revisit the agency strategies on an on-going basis, drive discussion at Agency Management team and align initiatives and roadmap with related stakeholders to excel our strategic growth ambitions.
  • Formulate agency strategies in line with corporate Must Win Priorities to accelerate the expansion of Agency Force based on different metrics. Leverage data analytics to design and augment strategies and initiatives whilst tracking its effectiveness
  • Make forward-thinking recommendations to drive agency in excelling targets. Some of the key focuses include MDRT strategy, business development, cross-selling, active agent ratio, agent segmentation, agency compensation tactics etc.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholder groups to deliver our organizational vision. Work with senior stakeholders within the organization to ensure alignment of Agency strategy, prioritization and must-win priorities to develop customer-centric proposition and solutions, and to deliver effective business outcome with excellence.
  • Apply best practices to define governance, structure, staffing, budgeting & cost management and processes of Agency projects.
  • Contribute to the project and program plan development, milestone setting, as well as monitoring the team’s progress against plans. Collaborate with other teams to develop campaigns for agency force’s targeted segments.
  • Facilitate, lead, and create leadership communication deliverables including reports, presentations and other outputs.
  • Be a change agent; help transform the Agency Force by focusing on organizational effectiveness, improvement and people development.
  • Perform monthly business review meetings with business development teams/ related stakeholders and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure clear targets and effective agency performance management processes are
established with close stakeholder collaboration. * Provide regular result monitoring and pipeline tracking to ensure effective implementation of agency strategies.
  • Annual strategic planning activities in respect of agency, and ongoing performance tracking and data analytics. Fully accountable for the success of Agency initiatives and their delivery on time, scope and budget.
  • Provide guidance to team members to ensure that project focus is on target and work is accomplished timely and of the highest quality standards

What we are looking for
  • University Degree
  • Ability to think “outside the box” in order to generate and test new ideas
  • Strong technical skills, especially on financial issues, coupled with the ability to write and present business cases and communicate financial performance effectively
  • Execution focused and delivery excellence
  • Strategic and innovative thinking and comfort dealing with ambiguity and challenges
  • Excellent influence, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Previous background in insurance industry in particular distribution would be valuable
  • At least 15 years of experience operating in a financial services environment
