Purpose Statement:As part of APAC Business Strategy, APAC is going to establish a regional repair centre called “Service Depot” in Penang, Malaysia, in order to accelerate Capital Equipment(“CE”) revenue growth across APAC.This is a customer-oriented role, responsible for regional technical support to capital equipment within Boston Scientific portfolio. He/she is the subject matter expert in the products assigned to him/her and perform hand-on repair, maintenance, calibration, and technical solution to BSC service network. He/she would have keen interest in area of service delivery improvement. This role may also provide opportunities to participate/or be part of other functional within the department such as APAC Technical Assistance Center (TAC), which is our regional call centre.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers on all BSC's Capital Equipment and third-party capital equipment distributed by BSC.
  • Perform service activities such as the maintenance, field action (repair at the hospitals or BSC location), recalibration (routine maintenance or preventive maintenance), upgrade, and repair all of BSC's Capital Equipment and accessories in-house and in the field.
  • Operates programmable AC auto-tests, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special AC (alternate current) test fixtures.
  • Reporting all service activities in approved Service Management Systems and meet key performance indicators.
  • Train Field Service Engineers when needed in local countries and distributors networks and disseminate best practice sharing to reach competency level requirement.
  • Responsible for monitoring, organizing and maintaining personal trunk stock, tools & test measurement equipment and spare parts.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction on BSC equipment performance and services.
  • Ensures awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures to meet, comply and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific.
  • Analyze and assess product operation and make recommendations for optimal device management.
  • Collaborate with relevant functions for content management of knowledge platform.
  • Participate in project improvements and expansion activities related to Service Excellences delivery.
  • Key stakeholders: Capital Equipment Repair Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Service Material specialist, Customer Care, TAC and any other internal customers as required.
  • Travel frequency: Occasional. Expected once a month for repair work at local hospitals when required.
Requirements:
  • Education level: Min. bachelor’s degree in electronic, mechatronic, biomedical engineering or equivalent.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing skills.
  • Experience of electronic test debug, repair, and calibration experience
  • Experience in debug and repair based on electronic schematics
  • Knowledge of electronic test tools required (Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators) to component level including soldering / resoldering
  • Flexible and representative attitude, customer service focused
  • Computer literate, network knowledge required
  • Good social and communication skills
  • Creative thinking, innovative, logical, problem solver, multi-tasking
  • Medical equipment experience
  • Experience with Service Management System such as: Salesforce, ServiceMax, SAP Service Module
  • General knowledge and application of technical documents and diagram
  • Experience in new manufacturing setup/ NPI project as bonus.
