- Responsible for the accurate input, approval and processing of payments in accordance with established procedures
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and errors promptly and accurately.
- Liaise with clients, investment managers, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of client payments..
- Work with internal teams, such as Treasury, Banking Operations and Client Operations to ensure that all deliverables are met.
- Ensure adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
- Analyse payment and query data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Act as escalation point for team.
- Deputize for Manager when required, ensuring that work is fairly allocated across the team.
- Ensure critical issues are escalated in a timely manner to senior stakeholders.
- Represent local team on global projects, and lead workstreams of projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and security of payment processes.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Ensure that procedures are up to date, and in line with firm standards.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory updates as they pertain to payments.
- Analyse opportunities for improvement within the overall payment process
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of new systems and processes related to payments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to product development initiatives to optimize payment processing and client experience.
- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks (e.g. audit requests) as required.
- Post-secondary education with a concentration in finance, accounting or related fields.
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is particularly an asset.
- Basic understanding of fund administration industry.
- Strong understanding of global payment processes, and familiarity with payment systems and online banking platforms
- Knowledge of Swift Payment processing, including payment formatting and field definitions a distinct advantage.
- Experience of implementing process improvements is advantageous
